As I go forward in a state of constant movement, I understand that the movement taking place in our bodies and minds never ceases, nor does anything in our surroundings stand still. As I paint with this rhythm, I come in terms with permanence being just a beautiful illusion.

EEVA-MARJA SAARINEN

(b.1989 in Kauhajoki) lives and works in Espoo, Finland.

Her artworks are known from organic brush strokes and a claiming ambiance of ongoing metamorphose. To create her more often figurative work Saarinen uses acrylics and mixed medias with her unique way of line - making. She works with painting and installation, and finds her inspiration by mirroring the interminable natural cycles of human and nature.

Saarinen graduated from Free Art School in Helsinki in 2020. Since 2015 she has participated in exhibitions in Finland and since 2021 elsewhere in Europe. In 2021 Saarinen received a public price in VNEPT competition and she has her work included in private and corporate collections in Finland, Switzerland, United States, Spain and Germany.
