ABOUT
EEVA-MARJA SAARINEN
(b.1989 in Kauhajoki) is a professional visual artist who lives and works in Espoo, Finland.
Her artworks are known from organic brush strokes and a dreamlike ambiance of ongoing metamorphosis. To create her fragmented and more often semi-abstract work Saarinen uses acrylics and mixed medias with her unique way of line - making.
In her practice the physical and metaphysical ideas accept each other as equal possibilities, making her works ethereal yet bold and empowering in their material bodies. She works with painting and installation, and finds her inspiration by mirroring the interminable movement and natural cycles of human, spirit and nature.
Saarinen graduated from Free Art School in Helsinki in 2020. Since 2015 she has participated in exhibitions in Finland and since 2021 elsewhere in Europe. In 2021 Saarinen received a public price in VNEPT competition and she has her work included in private and corporate collections in Finland, Holland, United States, Spain and Germany.
